How To Persuade People To Buy Your Product

By Jimmy D. Brown

You can be persuasive without indulging in hype, using strong-arm tactics, or preying on people’s emotions. In this article, I’d like to propose one way of convincing others to buy without compromising your ethics.

The premise is simple: write a piece of content (Example: article) that depends upon purchasing your product in order to most effectively use or use at all.

Let’s look at three very simple steps for this process…

1. Write a content piece that shares a set of points

It doesn’t matter if they are tips, keys, steps, ideas, ways, or any other type of list or how-to tutorial. The important thing is to share 3 or more of these related points.

Examples:

• 3 Keys To Making More Money From Your List
• Top 10 Ways To Get More Volunteers To Serve At Church
• The Simple, 5-Step System For Selling More Used Cars
• 7 Quick Tips for Toning Your Tummy
• How to Nurture Good Child Behavior In 3 Easy Steps
• The Ultimate Training Program For Running A Marathon

Nothing very surprising there. Folks do this all day long. And this works with everything we’ve talked about so far. Here’s where things are different…

2. Make everything you share dependent upon a single point or premise.

If you can make all of the content you share dependent upon one of the points or an idea that runs throughout the entire content, then you can start counting your orders now.

As always, let me give some examples to illustrate what I’m talking about…

EXAMPLE: A while back I wrote an article that shared, “3 Keys To Making More Money From Your List”. The three keys were: Consistency in quality, consistency in regularity, and consistency in delivery. In key #1, I talked about quality of content and how to provide exactly what your list members want in order to keep them reading. In key #2, I revealed a HUGE mistake that I had been making in how often I sent PROMOTIONAL mailings to my list. (Believe it or not, I wasn’t sending them often enough!) In key #3, I talked about spam filters and problems with email delivery as I spelled out how CRITICAL it was to get your mailings delivered to the inboxes of your subscribers.

Did you notice how key #1 and key #2 were COMPLETELY DEPENDENT upon key #3? It does you absolutely ZERO good to have content your list members WANT to read, and have promotional mailings that your list members WILL respond to if they NEVER receive the mailings!

That’s the idea here.

Let me give you a couple more examples to illustrate…

EXAMPLE: Let’s take a quick look at that content piece, “Top 10 Ways To Get More Volunteers To Serve At Church”. You could identify methods for getting volunteers such as sending out recruiting emails, letting volunteers choose when they are and are not available to serve, providing training materials, and so forth. You can frame everything in the content so that it is dependent upon having a program (software, web-based app, etc.) to manage it all. You could even provide a case study example of how that program is used to work with all the methods you mentioned. But, that’s not even my point. The entire list of ways is dependent upon the church HAVING A VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN PLACE.

EXAMPLE: What about that content piece I mentioned a moment ago, “The Ultimate Training Program For Running A Marathon”? In the article you could talk about various types of runs you need to build into your training program such as hill repeats, speed workouts, long runs, recovery runs, etc. Mention that a mix of each is needed. Discuss varying paces and duration of each. All of this is excellent. But, here’s the thing: they STILL NEED A TRAINING PROGRAM. They know WHAT to put into a training program, but they don’t know HOW to develop the right mix at the right pace at the right intensity at the right duration.

This works for many, many pieces of content.

Give them good, useful, meaty information in all of the points and then stress at the close how they are all dependent upon some thing. And that “some thing” is…

3. Offer something related to the point or premise upon which everything is dependent.

Here’s the call to action. Here’s where you get people to leave your free content and go face-to-face with a buying opportunity for your recommended product.

What you have, in essence, done is create a problem for the reader. A problem that you are about to solve.

What you’ve told them is this: “These are all great ideas. But you can’t put them to work for you. Unless…”

At the conclusion of your free content, you not only mention that everything you’ve shared is dependent upon something, but you recommend a product that will enable them to actually use what you’ve just revealed to them.

Let’s take a look at how this would work in each of the three examples I mentioned…

EXAMPLE: In that first example, everything was dependent upon delivery of the email. That is, the subscriber must actually receive the email and open it. So, in that example, I would offer a product that teaches “How To Get Your Emails Successfully Delivered And Opened.” And that’s actually what I did a while back when I created a product entitled, “Get Messages Read”. I offered a product that solved the problem, that offered a solution for which everything I shared in the article depended upon.

EXAMPLE: In that second example, the offer being presented could either be a course on how to setup a volunteer program. Or it could be a done-for-you service where a third party sets up the program on your behalf. Or it could even be a robust suite of online tools that managed the entire volunteer program. Lots of options here, but you could make a case for the entire content piece – every idea shared in it – dependent upon an offer that is mentioned at its conclusion.

EXAMPLE: For our third example you could offer a variety of things ranging from a set of training programs, a done-for-you training program where a qualified expert creates the program, a course that teaches how to create your own training program or even a software program or app that creates them. The problem created was the necessity for having your own custom training program, and the solution is made available in a recommended resource that you strategically reference at the conclusion.

Ultimately, the goal is to connect your free content to your paid product.

And you can do this in a paragraph or two, or as little as a couple of sentences dependent upon available space. There is a sales process in place somewhere – all you want to do at the conclusion of your content is to get them to initiate that sales process. IE Click on a link and arrive at a direct response sales page.

There is an extremely easy way to do this. The call to action is simply using a here’s how, where, what or why statement…

• Here’s how I / we use it…

• Here’s where it really is beneficial…

• Here’s what it can do for you…

• Here’s why this will [insert desired result]…

Explain the benefits, specifically stressing that it will make everything they have read “even better” or “even possible”. Then provide a link to a page where they can learn more about it. This connects your content to your offer.

And that’s how you persuade people to buy your product by using free content! No hype. No strong-arm tactics. No preying on emotions. Just meaty content that strategically builds toward a connected offer.

Shortcut Systems You Can Use To Build Your Home Business

One of the greatest things about the Internet is that you can easily build an online business that creates an income that pays your bills and gives you some extra money for the things you want to do in life.

Well for those who are committed to actually working hard for it that is. 🙂

Yes the Internet makes it easier, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to work hard. When you can finally accept that fact that you’re going to have to work hard and you’re committed to doing so then you have a BIG chance of actually creating the income of your dreams.

In this short tutorial I want to give you some shortcuts that will help you find success faster…

Squeeze Page Shortcut – Having a squeeze page that allows you to build a list is vital to your success and is the first place you should start in building your Internet business. Now you can go out there, find a niche, learn to build a squeeze, learn to create emails OR you can use one of the many ready to go squeeze pages that someone else has already created!

Yes! You can find squeeze pages that you can add your name and autoresponder code to and have something ready to go to start building your list. Many of these will also come with follow up emails you can use too.

To find these you can search your favorite search engine for them or any affiliate marketplace like JVZoo and/or ClickBank.

Using this shortcut will have you up and running with the first thing your business should consist of… A lead gathering machine!

Affiliate Marketing Shortcut – Once you have a squeeze page setup the quickest and easiest way to start making money is by promoting products as an affiliate. This is where you find products related to your niche (the topic of your squeeze page) that others have created and you promote them to your list for a commission.

There’s two shortcuts you can use here:

1. Affiliate Tools Page – Most product creators will give you ready to go tools to use to promote their products. Things like banners, emails, blog posts, reports, etc. You can grab these tools add your affiliate links and start sending them to your list. When you find a product you want to promote contact the owner and ask if they have an affiliate tools page.

2. Affiliate Promo Packages – Affiliate promotion packages are things like banners, emails, blog posts, reports, etc that someone else has created and they sell you the rights to them for you to use. It’s similar to the affiliate tools page except it’s someone who doesn’t own the product and creates a “tools package” that the sell to others to use.

Again to find these you can search your favorite search engine for them or any affiliate marketplace like JVZoo and/or ClickBank

By using this shortcut you can save a ton of time by NOT having to create promotional material for products you want to promote, AND it gives you a great way to make money from the list you build!

Digital Product Shortcut – The next step in your business is creating and selling your own products. You find a niche, find what they want, and create a product that gives it to them.

Of course there’s a shortcut for this also! You can find products related to your niche that you can get the right to sell or even get the right to call your own. Again to find these you can search your favorite search engine for them or any affiliate marketplace like JVZoo and/or ClickBank

Membership Site Shortcut – Okay so once you have a squeeze page setup, and you’re doing some affiliate marketing, and you’ve got a few products setup that you’re selling to your list too it’s time to turn on the monthly income and the best way to do this is to create your own membership site!

Now A LOT of work goes into creating your own membership site, but this tutorial is all about shortcuts, right? You bet!

Just like squeeze pages, affiliate promotional tools, and digital products you can find complete membership sites that you can setup and use to start creating a monthly income!

Now just like the other stuff to find these you can search your favorite search engine for them or any affiliate marketplace like JVZoo and/or ClickBank.

Just what I’ve taught you here you could build an entire business around using things that other people have already created. Maybe it’s not your dream business, but it’s a great way to get started and get money coming in!

Implementation Plan of A Home Based Business Direct Marketing Strategy

While a squeeze page itself will not directly sell your product or service, it is an extremely effective method for capturing leads that you can later convert into clients through the use of other marketing techniques. The primary purpose of a squeeze page is to build your company’s direct marketing list online.

The most basic definition of a squeeze page is a landing page for your company website that captures the visitor’s name and email address. A squeeze page can be all that is offered on the page, or a more subtle approach is to have it as part of another one of your company’s web pages.

When you are implementing a squeeze page as a direct marketing campaign, you will need to choose how aggressive you will want to be with the strategy. For example, some companies make it where you cannot actually access the information on their website without entering in the data while others allow the viewer to click past the opt-in option. Yet another option to consider is a pop up ad, where the visitor to your website will have a pop up opt-in function for a free company offer.

No matter which option you choose, you want to make your squeeze page and opt-in function work within your overall marketing direct strategy. Most businesses will use a squeeze page concept to build their direct marketing lists, so as long as your copy is well written and you drive a high number of visitors to your website, you should be in a great position to increase your lead base.

Once you have considered your various strategies, you will need to design and implement your squeeze page. In the initial stages, you will want to test several squeeze pages to determine what the best overall response rate is for your particular business. You can easily set up a variety of URL pages with different squeeze page options to test over time. This data will help you to make adjustments that will be more beneficial for your business in the long term.

When you are ready to launch your squeeze page, you will need to leverage a technology solution to capture the data for follow up. It is essential that the leads that opt-in to receive a free item receive that item quickly and that any and all leads that are captured are regularly followed up with to convert them into clients.

As we go deeper into the specific strategies in the next articles, you will be able to set up an effective squeeze campaign for your business.

8 Ways To Make Your Ads More Effective

I don’t know everything and if I have learned one thing about doing business on the Internet it is that the more you learn the more you don’t know. However, I have been doing business on the Internet since 1999 and I’ve managed to carve out a successful enterprise for myself with several profit streams. The largest percentage of my marketing and promotional efforts has been conducted through one simple method – Ezine Advertising.

These are the 8 important lessons I’ve learned regarding Ezine Advertising and Marketing Success:

A common mistake many advertisers make is to attempt to do too much, or rather sell too much, in one ad. Sure you have lots of great products but you can’t sell them all in a few lines-at least not individually. Instead focus on the benefit your customer can achieve from all your products and promote that! People are much more likely to click on a link that BENEFITS them than a link that promises to sell them something.

For example, “Help your child reach their maximum potential” instead of “Try our many reading, writing, math, shapes and colors programs”

More importantly, tell the customer what your product or service is going to do for him.

It is important that you identify your Unique Selling Proposition before you begin your advertising program. This will determine which Ezines (or markets) you target as well as what you should include in your ad copy. Who will be interested in your product and why? What benefits does your product offer them?

Don’t go for the sale in your ad! You are at a disadvantage because you can’t list all your products’ wonderful benefits in the space allowed. Also, there is only a small percentage of any Ezine audience that is ready to buy your product at the exact moment they view your ad. Yes, maybe they should be, but most people today live in the moment and if this isn’t the time they want to buy then they aren’t going to buy, end of story.

But it doesn’t have to be the end of the story. If you go for the soft sell approach your target consumer is much more likely to click on your link and then you’ve got the chance to go for the hard sell-again and again!

Here’s an example. I’m selling a product called the Preschool Prep Power Pack. It’s an educational CD for preschoolers. Now I could go for the hard sell in my promotion and I would make some sales but a lot of people who really might be interested won’t even look at my site and product. However, I’ve chose to go the soft sell approach. Instead of selling my product in my ads, my ads offer two FREE items. I offer a free newsletter (Preschoolers Learn More) offering tips about preparing preschoolers for kindergarten. This is my target market for my product. The folks who subscribe also receive a free ABC-123 coloring book. Why wouldn’t the parent of a preschooler subscribe, right?

But what’s in it for me as a business person? A lot! Think about it. I now have the freely offered contact information for my target market. Now I can regularly email them information about my product. I’m confident they will buy eventually because my product provides a solution to something that concerns them-or they wouldn’t have subscribed in the first place!

Another common mistake is not giving your ad campaign enough time to work.

Studies show it takes prospects an average of seven exposures to your promotion before they take the bait. Even after they have clicked through to your site visitors may need to visit your site as many as three times before they buy from you. So make sure you keep that offer in front of them. That means it may well pay to take the long-term package versus a one-shot ad.

People run through their emails rapidly and delete things they wish they hadn’t. Make their wish come true! Give them a second, third, fourth chance. The formula is – when you’re sick and tired of it, the public is just beginning to hear it.

Just because you’ve bought ad space doesn’t mean you have to utilize every pixel or character-space. Short, punchy lines that do not use up every available space are more effective. Think about the reader scanning down the page or screen. What will catch their eye and make them stop scanning and actually read? White space is your friend so don’t squander it. Use it to set off your important message.

Make sure you apply the same principal to your urls and e-mail addresses as well. Nothing can make an ad look more cluttered than giant web addresses with a complicated string of numbers and letters. If you have to use an address like that (perhaps for your affiliate code, for example) then it might be wise to use a redirect. There are numerous free services out there (http://snipurl.com for exmple) although perhaps it might be a good idea to use a page from your own web site with a redirect programmed in.

USE YOUR HEAD

Your headline is the most important part of your ad. This is usually the line that determines whether the skimming reader will stop or skip ahead.

Some of the proven headline formulas include:

1. Ask the reader a question: “Are you worried about filing your tax return this year?”
2. Tell the reader how to do something: “How to buy a car without getting a lemon.”
3. Provide a testimonial: “Big Al saved me $200 last month. Thanks, Cindy Lou from Paducah, Kentucky.”
4. Make a command. Turn your most important benefit into a commanding headline. “Stop rushing through life.” “Make more money this month.” “Feel better about yourself.”
5. Important news makes a good headline. “Max Electronics just went international!”
6. Start the clock: “Buyers who act before midnight Tuesday will save an extra $50!”
7. Give the reader something free: “Free whatsit for the first 100 visitors!”

DON’T FORGET TO TELL THEM WHAT TO DO!

It sounds almost ridiculous, but simply giving clear, specific directions about what you want the reader to do can increase the response to your ads.

SET YOUR BUDGET

One of the most difficult things to decide for any business person is how much money to spend on promotion. There really is one simple way to determine the answer. How much is a customer worth to you? That tells you a great deal about how much you can afford to spend on advertising.

The simple formula to calculate the net worth of a visitor is: Net Profit divided by Conversion Rate.

First, what is your net profit on an average sale? Let’s say $10 to make it easy. (Hey, I’m an English professor, I need to keep it simple!).

Then consider what your conversion rate is for visitors to become customers. Let’s say one visitor out of 50 becomes a customer. (This makes your conversion rate 50 as you need 50 customers to make a sale).

With this example, a visitor is worth $0.50 to you. ($10 divided by 50).

So if you spend $100 on an advertising campaign that draws in 1000 visitors then you made $400 on that campaign.

SET REALISTIC GOALS

This issue is really about control. Yes, if you could control things that you would have a high sell through but that isn’t always going to happen. In fact, for most advertisers that isn’t going to happen. However, if your goal is to capture customers then you are much more likely to match your goal or even exceed it. And in the end a customer is worth a lot more to you than a sale because a customer can represent many sales over years to come-sales that were fairly easy to achieve.

As frustrating as it may be, advertising is usually about long-term versus short-term benefits. Your ad simply serves as a lure to draw people into your site or long-term promotion. Once you’ve pulled them in then you need to sell them. So it is not really fair to judge an ad campaign on simple sales.

The success of an ad campaign should be measured by one or two elements only-first, how many people followed up on your offer (click-through rate) and second, how many of those visitors were you able to convert into customers (conversion rate).

Over time you will be able to judge where the weak link in your chain of customer creation exists and work to fix it.

Low click-through rate? Then it is probably your offer. You are not giving readers enough incentive to follow through. What is in it for them to click on your offer? Remember you are selling benefits!

Low conversion rate? Then perhaps you are not attracting the right sort of visitor. Target your incentive (the free offer, for example) to match your target audience.

3 Most Popular Ways of Making Money on the Internet

Do you know that 95% of the people starting out in their internet businesses fail? In the middle of all the noise and hype on the internet today, not many people realize that all the ideas and techniques you can find are useless if you don’t first understand what your business model is or how are you going to make money on the internet. Even the most remarkable internet marketing technique will not work if you don’t understand how to apply it to your business.

The 3 most popular business models are:

1) Affiliate Marketing

Perhaps the most popular one out there, affiliate marketing provides a good start for newbies. Almost anyone can sign-up for an affiliate program for free and start promoting the chosen product or service. Commissions start coming in if someone will buy or participate in the programs promoted. Affiliate marketers don’t carry any risk, since they do not pay for the creation of the product, they do not handle customer service, they need not know the innards of internet transactions, like merchant accounts, autoresponder (what is that?), reciprocal linking, etc. It’s also possible to be an affiliate even without a website.

Some affiliate marketing programs you may participate in require little up-front investment. Some are free. It’s no surprise therefore that almost everyone and their neighbor promotes an affiliate program or another. In fact, if there is a single reason why the Internet today is so proliferated with ads and banners, it’s because of affiliate programs.

With the millions out there involve in affiliate marketing, only 5% ever make any money and only 1% makes really big money. The “Super Affiliates,” so they are called, do it very differently from the rest, therefore they earn the big checks.

2) Writing an eBook or other type of information product, recording an information CD.

This is a great strategy because there are thousands of possibilities for the type of product that you can create. There are so many niche markets that you can write about. It could be a course on Japanese gardens, how to start your own babysitting business, how to sell your artwork, taking care of your dog’s ears … there are endless topics and still many that have not yet been explored by online marketers. You don’t have to write the information yourself, you can get a ghost writer or hire someone to produce the CD.

EBook authors need to invest more than affiliates do. While affiliates can get something for nothing, the same is not true for the eBook type of business. EBook authors need to learn a lot more than affiliates are required to. They need to spend some amount of money getting the business up and running. However, when done right, the payoff in this online business model is much more rewarding.

These marketers make more money because they have very, very low production and maintenance costs. Once the product is produced, it doesn’t cost a cent to reproduce thousands of copies. Start-up costs can be covered by selling just a few copies of very high-margin eBooks. You can even recruit hordes of affiliates to do the selling for you.

3) Adsense

This has taken the internet by storm. There are tons of testimonials from people making outrageous income from adsense.

Adsense is Google’s advertising program wherein webmasters display ads from Google’s extensive list of advertisers. Unobtrusive text-based ads are served in member sites, who then earn a commission every time someone clicks on the advertisers’ links.

Google Adsense uses a technology to deliver ads that are highly relevant to the content of a page. Google’s engine will scan through the content of the page to determine its topic, and will then serve ads that are relevant to the page’s content. Running Google Adsense is quite simple. First build a website full of content of your desired niche or topic, and then register in Google’s adsense program. Once approved, you then paste a code in your page, and the ads start appearing immediately after you upload the changes to your server.

Google is silent on how it shares the revenue per click with their partners, but how much you will earn per click depends on the topic and the product being advertised. Products with profit margins of $10 for the advertiser will most likely give you a smaller pay per click than a product with a $100 margin. Similarly, ads with high conversion rates will normally give you higher payouts than less effective ads, since they can afford to pay more dollars per click, with a portion of that money going to you.

These are the top 3 most popular online business models today. No matter which model you choose, make sure you understand the basics. Stop buying courses or information not applicable to your business. Information overload can stop you before you even get started.

The $60,000 Mugging

I was referred to a prospective client recently that had their website redesigned. They paid $60,000 for a site that really does nothing for them. It is a simple brochure site that provides visitors nothing and it certainly does nothing to convert traffic into sales. Since all their budget went to design, they have no money left over to properly market the site. Mistake #1, don’t pay $60,000 for a branding exercise.

A corporate website is about supporting the business. The beauty of the Internet is there is no guessing. You can measure pretty much anything. What are you trying to accomplish? Increase traffic? Generate leads? Increase sales? If it is yes to one of these questions, then a $60,000 investment should get you another $600,00 to your bottom-line? Can a brochure site deliver a 80-95% ROI?

Web design is a commodity today. The cost of design should represent about 25% of your total spend. Design costs are competitive today, so spending more than you have to should be the last thing you do. There are excellent open source Content Management Systems (CMS) that give you the power to manage your own content. The cost of the software is $0 to you. We recommend using either Plone or Joomla. Both of these platforms provide you with Web 2.0 compliant back-end at low cost for setup and maintenance.

The value in web design is working with companies that can properly market what you do. To properly market the site, you should be spending 10-12x what you should spend in design. So, it is possible to get a Web 2.0 website at an affordable cost. If you are a small company that is spending $4,000-$8,000 on a basic website, you should plan over 12 months to spend an additional $30,000-$80,000 on marketing. The dollars spent on marketing brings the traffic to the site. Simple rule, more traffic through the front door means more business.

Unlike other advertising, you can control your spend and measure your ROI pretty quickly. You can turn your marketing dollars on and off depending on the performance, it is all measurable.

DeFabis Photography is an example of a client that went through the redesign process. We built a Search Engine Friendly website that allows him to manage content on the site. Prior to working with us, his website was not listed in the top 100 on Google for the popular keywords. Since working with us, his visitors and page views have increased. But most important, he has doubled his bookings from this time last year. And, he did not spend $60,000 on his web design.

If you need help in evaluating a prospective vendor, here are some questions that may help you understand their knowledge:

1. How do you capture visitor traffic off the Internet? Can you track their movement through your site? If so, how?
2. How do you manage pay per click advertising dollars to ensure you are maximizing your spend and not wasting money?
3. How do you measure whether your site is friendly to your users?
4. How many page views would you estimate your site would get to determine the right level of hosting?
5. What things will you need to change on your website? What things can you change on your own?
6. If your want to change the look, does it require changes to the backend scripting on the site?
7. What will it take to add a new page to match an ad you are running to the new site? For instance, you want to advertise a special and build a page specific for it, what will it take for you to do this?

Does Your Thank You Page Redirect People From Potential Profits?

When I began my newsletter, I needed a page to redirect my subscribers to once they signed up. Because I was in a rush to get it set up, I redirected them to the archives page of my newsletter.

When I began my newsletter, I needed a page to redirect my subscribers to once they signed up. Because I was in a rush to get it set up, I redirected them to the archives page of my newsletter.

Big Mistake #1

When I had some free time I went back and made a thank you page that simply stated, “Thank you for subscribing. Your first issue will arrive shortly.” and listed the archives.

Big Mistake #2

What I failed to realize when I set up those two pages is that I had my visitor’s attention. They were already interested in what I had to say because I convinced them to sign up for my newsletter or eCourse and I let them get away. I missed an opportunity. I missed potential profits.

When I redesigned my thank you page I included the standard “thank you” and “make sure you look for your confirmation email”. I also instructed them to make sure they added me to their safe senders list to ensure they receive my emails. But this time I included “You may also be interested in these additional free offers:” and listed a free eBook, the opportunity to sign up for a free eCourse, and information about my favorite business author – all using my affiliate links.

Guess what happened? When I checked my affiliate stats, my click through rate increased 100% in just two days. Every person who subscribed to my newsletter also subscribed to the free eCourse I offered. My affiliate sales for the three products I promoted have doubled.

I’ve been publishing my newsletter for five months and it makes me sick to think about how much money I’ve lost because I didn’t take the time to talk to my visitors.

Do you know what’s mind blowing? Not only did it take me 30 minutes to set up the new thank you page, it didn’t cost me a dime. I already had all the information tucked away in my personal affiliate tool kit and was just too lazy to pull it out and put it to use.

Don’t make the same mistakes. Take a look at the page you’re redirecting your new subscribers to. Are you offering targeted product recommendations? Are you keeping them with you or just letting them close that window to possibly never return? Take thirty minutes of your time and the resources you already have available to you and update your redirect page.

Your bank account will thank you.

10 Common Misconceptions About Marketing on the Internet

Let me dispel a few misconceptions people have about marketing on the internet:

1. You will get rich quick. Marketing on the internet takes a lot of work. This is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes much time learning and failing before you will succeed. Your success is entirely up to you. You will reap what you sow.

2. You won’t make any money. Again you will reap what you sow. your key to success is through consistency and persistency. If you are willing to learn and accept failures from time to time, learn from your mistakes and apply that knowledge – the money will come. Don’t give up. There are lots of people who truly do make money this way.

3. Anyone can do this. If you tell yourself there is nothing to this, you will set yourself up for guaranteed failure. A profession such as this takes a lot of discipline and most of all the willingness to learn. It takes a lot of hard work and an open mind. You have to be willing to embrace new ideas as they come and take this seriously.

4. Not everyone can do this. This is also not true. As long as you free your mind to scepticism such as these, you have taken your first step. While this profession takes time to figure out, it is not hard to figure out. Remember the only person stopping you is you!

5. It is too hard. Look within yourself. There is an online business in you. What do you know? What do you like? What do you need that has not been created yet? Answers to these questions and questions like them are the beginnings of you having the ability to set yourself apart from the crowd.

6. It will be easy. It will get easier, but you will have to do loads of studying. Spend many hours brainstorming. You will spend many hours reading, writing, and learning what works and what doesn’t. It will get tedious and hard to stick to. Persevere, your reward is coming.

7. It will only require 2-3 hours a day. At some point you will be able to automate most of your efforts. In the beginning, long hours are not unheard of. I have spent many 18 hour days in front of my computer.

8. This is not a real job. Yeah right! You will come across many sceptics. Or worse than that, people who do not reveal scepticism but merely look at you funny. Believe me this is a real job. You will be just as exhausted from working and researching all day as you would sling 50 pound sacks of flour all day. When you are mentally exhausted you will be physically exhausted. You work hard; don’t allow the people who minimize your efforts get to you.

9. The only good reason to do this is for the money. That could not be further from the truth. There is a lot to gain; the money is a plus of course. Learning will always make you a better person. If you are happy with your self, everyone else will be to. You can’t beat the hours.

10. It takes years to learn online business. Not true. The best suggestion is to study hard. Read your newsletters and the articles in them. Listen to those who are already successful. They are already telling you what to do and how to do it. Now you just need to listen and learn.
